To start the trip, we will pick you up from your hotel in Yogyakarta. From there, we will take you to the train station and you will depart by train to Surabaya. You will meet our professional guide for your trip at Surabaya train station. Afterwards, we will drive about 2 hours to Sukapura village. Then, we will continue the trip by Jeep (4 WD) to enjoy the bumpy road towards Mt. Penanjakan which is the best spot to enjoy the breathtaking scene of Bromo sunrise. Driving down the hill, you will pass the vast sea of sand, resulting from the eruption of Mt. Bromo, in a 30 minute-easy track all the way to the peak. From the crater rim, you can see the active Bromo crater, caldera and the mountainous views of Mt. Batok and the highest mount in Java Island, Mt. Semeru. Also, you can find the Hindu temple reflecting the Majapahit Kingdom's history. Next, you can enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant. After finishing breakfast, the guide will lead you to the next destination that is Madakaripura Waterfall. There, you will find a natural 200m height waterfall with many spots relaxing your eyesight.

We need to depart earlier to make sure that we reach the best viewpoint of Mt Bromo. Sometimes, on weekends or holidays of high season, Bromo could be overcrowded. By departing earlier and starting ahead of the crowds. We will make sure to bring you to the front row seats of Mt Bromo's majestic view.

Both Surabaya and Malang have their own train stations, and trains from Yogyakarta regularly serve both stations.

How difficult is the hike up Mount Bromo?

The hike up Mount Bromo is considered to be relatively easy, and it can be completed by people of all ages and fitness levels. The trek takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on your speed and physical condition. As long as you are prepared and take your time, you should be able to complete the trek with ease and fully enjoy the breathtaking views that this natural wonder has to offer.

Can I visit Mount Bromo during Ramadan?

Is it safe to travel to an active volcano?

Most of the volcanoes in Indonesia are pretty safe to travel. The government always observes the activity of each volcano. Especially for Mt Bromo, there have been close to none of cases where a sudden eruption happens. You can easily notice the smoke erupting from the caldera. White smoke means safe and darker ones means eruption is ongoing.

Is there any wild life ?

Wildlife that can be seen around the viewpoints are monkeys. Other than that, there was not any wildlife that you could encounter.

Is it safe to travel with kids?

Yes, it is safe to travel with your children on Mt Bromo. Since Mt Bromo is a popular destination, many facilities such as 4WD Jeep, horse riding by the local tribe, shops around the viewpoints are presented to make sure everyone can go to Mt Bromo as a walk in a park.

Is it safe to travel with elders?

Yes, it is also safe to travel with elders. 4WD Jeep, horse riding, and stairs on the caldera will help them a lot to climb Mt Bromo summit

Is that okay if we wear sneakers/flip flops?

Wearing sneakers is okay, but flip-flops are not recommended. Sneakers provide better support and protection for your feet, especially on the sandy and uneven terrain you may encounter during the tour.
