Everything exceeded our expectations during our trip with Cheap Bromo.

We have been guided by (Super) Mario who has made everything to make us feel comfortable during a very smooth journey. He took blankets and ground cover on King Kong Hill, which even allowed our young children to take a nap before sunrise. Very fluent in English, it was a pleasure to talk with him as he shares crystal clear information. He found a great spot for sunrise and has never put pressure on us to go faster.

The chosen hotel was also great. The resort even had trampolines, swings, playgrounds,… which was great to reward our kids after a very short night.

I’ve requested offers to many tour operators and choosing Cheap Bromo for this tour was definitely once of the best decisions from our holidays in Indonesia.

Booked a 2D/1N tour with cheap Bromo.com with pickup and drop off in Surabaya. The price was not really cheap, but it was totally worth it! Our guide was Ubaydillah and from pickup till drop off he made sure that everything was perfect. He knew the best spot for watching the sunset and his English is very good, so he could answer any questions we had. So if you want a worry free experience I can highly recommend!

We were one week in java before we headed to gili air and had booked this beatiful 2 day trip in java. Our guide was ana. Excellent guide and a very nice person i would ask after her if possible :). Everything was so well organised and also the hotel was on top and the pictures that we made speak for themselve.
A must on your to do list in java. On the first night the sunrise in mount bromo and the crater and second night the blue fires both amazing views.

If nature, adventure and the great outdoors is something you love, this is an experience that will stay with you for a long time. The team at Cheap Bromo makes sure of that!
From clarifying all doubts and questions at the booking stage to the pick up, tour and actual trail, these guys make sure to always look out for you.
We were one of the slowest teams but our guide Ana was very patient. When my shoes unfortunately gave up on me, she was kind enough to help us find a shop to buy a new pair, in time for the next trek.
The hotel too was neat, clean, comfortable and fully equipped with all amenities.

Two Important factors to Consider:
It is very cold and windy, and both hikes take place when the sun is barely there. So layer up with good hiking gear.

You need to be a decently fit. Most of the 3km trek up the Ijen crater is at a very steep incline. It needs to be completed in approx 3 hours to get the best views of the blue flames before the sun comes up.

excellent tour!! Ana did such a good job taking care of us and accommodating our requests (where to pick us up, helping us organize how to get back to Bali, checking up on when we wanted to eat, etc) the two volcano hikes are definitely a must see and we are happy we chose this tour to do it with.

only tip is: bring some toilet paper!

My wife and I just completed the Mount Bromo & Ijen Crater Tour and it was fantastic! Our amazing English-speaking guide Sugi meet us just before midnight at our Hotel Lobby in Surabaya and took us to the car and introduced us to our driver. This is when we were delighted to realise this was a private tour. We napped while were driven to Sukapura. We left our “big bags” locked in the car. Accompanied by Sugi we switched to a local driver in a very cool 4WD that ascended the mountain with grunting power. We then stopped at a local mountain tea house to have a warm drink as it was freezing. Bring your warm clothes. Sugi then walked us up to the top of Mount Penanjakan to watch the stars and the beautiful sunrise over Mount Bromo. We then returned to the 4WD that took us back down the mountain and across the sand flats to the base of Mount Bromo crator. We chose to add-on the horse ride across the whispering sands (you can walk this for free). We then climbed the stairs that lead us to the top of the volcano edge where we watched the hissing steam rising from the core. We then returned to our horses that took us back to the 4WD that drove us to a charming mountain restaurant for a hot buffet breakfast before returning to our original car. We watched the beautiful scenery pass for several hours before stopping for lunch. As we are vegetarian, Sugi ordered the perfect meal for us. We then continued on to our lovely hotel to rest before meeting Sugi back in the lobby at midnight to begin our drive to IJen. On arrival we left our big bags in the car and enjoyed a warm drink at the local tea house where we met our local guide who was a Sulphur miner in IJen over 20 years. We put on the head torches provided and both Sugi and the local guide accompanied us as we trekked to the top of IJen. We then put on the gas masks provided and the local guide helped us safely navigate the narrow decent into the sulphur pit to see the eerie blue flame amongst the smoke. We slowly climbed out of the pit and walked to the top to enjoy the spectacular view at sunrise over the iridescent blue lake inside the crater. With a great sense of accomplishment we meandered back down the mountain to meet the driver who whizzed us to Katagang Port where Sugi arranged our ferry to Bali. We really enjoyed this tour. Everything was included in the price accept dinner at the hotel and the horses (we decided to add this). A big thankyou to our guide Sugi who was professional, punctual, organised, informative, thoughtful and funny! Terima kasih.

Cheap Bromo was a wonderful tour to book with. They were responsive and arranged everything perfectly. Our guide, Rina took good care of us and ensured that we were always in good hands. The entire trip was very well planned out and the views at Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen were breathtaking. Highly recommended tour and will definitely go with Cheap Bromo again if we return.

We had the best time on our 2D/1N trip to Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater with Rina as our guide! We loved everything about this tour and cannot recommend it enough. The price is definitely one of the most reasonable around and you get so much for your money (the standard of everything: guides, drivers, private cars, accommodation and food was incredible). All of our meals were filling and delicious (traditional Indonesian food). The accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable; it was actually really luxurious compared to what we are used to as long term backpackers. Note, there is long periods of driving between each point, so if you struggle to get comfortable/sleep in cars it might be a good idea to bring a neck pillow. However, it’s completely worth the long drives, early rises and steep climbs to see these natural wonders in person. We got extremely lucky and had good weather and visibility at both sights and just want to thank Cheap Bromo again for making this all possible for us. The whole tour was seamless from start to finish and they even helped us organise our ferry to Bali after the tour was finished! Finally, a special thanks to our guide Rina, who was informative, friendly and professional throughout.
